How to complete the Loan Entrance Counseling (EC) and a Subsidized/Unsubsidized Master Promissory Note (MPN) for your student loan request.

Step-by-step instructions to completing the EC and MPN

1. Please go online to www.studentloans.gov
2. Login in using your FSA ID (the username and password used to sign the FAFSA)
1. You can also click “Create an FSA ID” to retrieve and/or reset your username or password
3. Then, click on the second link, “Complete Loan Counseling”
4. Next, you will click the first “Start” box for Entrance Counseling (Required)
5. Add School to Notify
1. School State is Arizona
2. School Name is University of Advancing Computer Technology
6. You will click the box that says “Notify This School”
7. Next, select your student type
1. If you are in a bachelor’s or associates program, choose “undergraduate”
2. If you are in a master’s program, select “graduate or professional”
8. On the next five pages, you will answer the green “Check Your Knowledge” boxes –
1. most answers are either right above or right below the question
2. When you get the answer correct, you will see a green “Correct” box
3. If you get the answer wrong, you will see a red “Incorrect” box, but don’t worry this is not scored. Just choose your next best answer until you get it correct
9. At the bottom of page 5, you will click “Submit Counseling” and UAT will receive a copy

1. If you just completed EC, you will be on the “Entrance Counseling Summary” page
1. On the right-hand side of the screen click the blue link that says, “Complete a Master Promissory Note”
2. Select the type of MPN you would like to complete
1. Choose the first option, “MPN for Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans” and click “Start”
3. Please make sure that all of your personal information on the Borrow Information page is accurate and up-to-date
4. The School Information will be the same as before
1. School State is Arizona
2. School Name is University of Advancing Computer Technology
5. Next, you will provide two references
1. Your references should be family members or friends who do not live with you
6. Review all the sections of the terms and conditions for the MPN
7. Sign your name electronically at the bottom and click “Sign & Submit”
