Steps To Changing Your Pronouns
At the University of Advancing Technology (UAT), you can personalize your Canvas profile by selecting your pronouns. This feature promotes inclusivity and ensures that your pronouns are visible to instructors and classmates across various areas in Canvas, such as discussions, messages, and the People page.

🔄 Steps to Update Your Pronouns in Canvas

Log in to Canvas: Access your Canvas account using your UAT credentials.

Navigate to Account Settings:

Click on Account in the global navigation menu on the left.

Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Edit Your Settings:

On the Settings page, click the Edit Settings button

Select Your Pronouns:

In the Pronouns dropdown menu, choose the pronouns that best represent you.

Available options may include:

He/Him
-
She/Her
-
They/Them
-
Ze/Hir
-
Prefer not to specify
-
None
-

Note: The list of available pronouns is predetermined; custom entries are not currently supported.

Save Your Changes:

Click Update Settings to apply your selected pronouns.

Once updated, your chosen pronouns will appear next to your name in various areas throughout Canvas, including:

Discussions

Inbox messages
-
People pages
-
User profile
